3. Keep a Backup
No matter what grad student housing programs you are operating under, remember that there are always a finite amount of living spaces available. Campus housing runs out quickly, as do convenient off campus apartments, so grad student housing apartments can be hard to come by. Always have a few back up plans on the back burner just in case.
